Research interests: Study of the biological and biochemical processes via state of the art computer simulations techniques ranging from force field molecular dynamics to hybrid QM/MM and ab initio molecular dynamics. In partcicular I focus on (metal based) enzymatic catalysys, on drug/nucleic acids and protein/nucleic acids interactions, on the role of metal ions in neurodegenerative diseases and on the transport of nutrients and metal ions across biological membranes.
